Mondays are always boring. We all have to get back to work after a relaxing Sunday. How boring.. 🙁 🙁 :/
I have a perfect trick to make your Monday a peaceful one and not moan-day 😛
Make your Mondays special reading this amazing interview with the beautiful Purba Chakraborty. 🙂 🙂
Happy Reading 🙂 🙂
neurontin 300 mg discontinued Q1. Describe Purba in 5 words.
Ans. After I completed my graduation in 2011, I decided to write a book but it was not because I wanted to be a serious writer. It was like fulfilling a wish of mine. But after I completed writing my first book, I realized my true calling and decided that from now on-wards, I would live to write and write to live.
If I were not a writer, then perhaps I would have been a radio jockey or a struggling singer.
( waahhh… RJ ya singer. Yeh toh dono kaam karti. RJ banti toh gaana bajati nahi khud gaati 😛 😛 😀 )
Q3.”Walking in the streets of love and destiny”& “the hidden letters”. Which one is more close to your heart? Reason please?
Ans. Both of them. It’s like telling to choose between your two children. Both are close to me for different reasons. My first book is close to me as it made me realize my true calling. It was like a surprise gift to me. On the other hand, “The Hidden Letters” is close to me as I really worked hard for it. I totally wore the skin of Anaya while I was writing the book. It was exhausting and yet a very fulfilling journey for me as a writer.
( uffff… kitna mehnat ka kaam hai re baba 😛 😛 )
Q4. How did you get the plot of “the hidden letters”?
Ans. From my observation skills, I noticed that often, the most successful people are not happy despite having everything in abundance in their lives. The thing that is missing in their lives is mental peace. This observation made me hatch the plot of The Hidden Letters.
( khatarnaak hai ye ladki… dimag bhi padhti hai :O :O bach ke rehne ka re 😛 )
Q5. What difficulties you faced while writing, “Walking in the streets of love and destiny”? In addition, did those mistakes helped while writing, “The hidden letters”.
Ans. When I was writing “Walking in the streets of love and destiny”, I was quite inexperienced. So, I did not sketch out the outline first and just went with the flow. However, while writing “The Hidden Letters”, I was completely ready with my outline, character sketch and plot. I just followed the outline and kept adding colors to the manuscript through my words.
( shabasshh… seekho inse kuch , kitaab likhne waalo 🙂 )
Q6. In life, if ever you come across a situation like Ananya, What will you do?? The same as what Ananya did or you will take a different move?
Ans. You know this is the question which I have been asked by so many people.Well, it’s tough to say what I would have done, if I were in Anaya’s place. I would have probably given the first letter to Nishith and let him make the choice. But on second thoughts, it’s not that easy especially when a woman is pregnant and when she has been deprived of love all her life. So, I think what Anaya had done is totally normal and anyone in her place would have done the same thing. After all, we are human and not Utopian beings. We are all selfish in some way but the best part of Anaya is that she is not-self centered.
( je baat… bilkul thik kahe 🙂 )
Q7. You also own a blog(s). Name them and what are they about? What is your strategy about your blog? In addition, what matters more for you Readers| Traffic or content.
Ans. I own two blogs.
Love, laugh and reflect is the extension of my creative world where I pen down poems, fiction, real life anecdotes, travelogues, fashion and shopping tips, musings on cinema etc. It is the place where I can be totally myself. And therefore, I love my blog.
Reviews, thoughts and feedback is my book blog where I pen down book reviews and thoughts about the books I have read. Being a bibliophile, it gives me a place to express my thoughts about books.
It is very important to regularly update your blog and to connect with other bloggers. For me, the content is most important because if your content is interesting, then it will definitely attract more readers and hence, more traffic.
Q8. Is “the hidden letters “inspired from a real incidence or it’s just the result of an imagination of a talented writer?
Ans. “The Hidden Letters” is completely a product of my imagination. However, I have definitely drawn inspiration from real life people to sketch the characters of “The Hidden letters”.
Q9. What points you keep in mind while writing a book to make its content a best one?
Ans. Okay, now when I am writing my 3rd book, I keep these points in mind:
1. The plot should be gripping. One chapter should end at such a juncture that readers cannot wait to start reading the next chapter.
2. The flow should be smooth. Language should be lucid yet refined, sometimes garnished with good vocabulary.
3. The characters should be interesting and relatable. The dialogues between the characters should be able to reflect their personality.
Q10. Purba ,Anaya and Prachi. Do these three resemble to each other in any way or not? Reason please.
Ans. This is a nice question.
Well, all three of them have their own sets of dilemmas and demons to face in their lives. All three of them are strong and independent. All three of them know to wear their imperfections perfectly on their sleeves.
Q11. Finding a good publisher is the most difficult task for writers these days. Would you like to give some advice on how to choose a good publisher for their book?
Ans. I totally agree. Traditional publishers take around 6 months to give an affirmation and therefore, many good writers switch to self publishing.
If you are good at marketing, then you can gain success with both traditional and self publishing methods. However, you should choose the publisher who will be able to do justice to your manuscript with proper editing and proofreading. And someone who is sincere about both online and offline distribution.
Q12. Tips you would like to give to aspiring writers.
Ans. Read a lot. Write something every day in your journal, diary or blog. Be patient and perseverant. Have faith in your abilities.
( maa kasam sab kuch hai, bahut talent hai, bas ek confidence naam ki cheej hai toh nahi hai 😛 baaki toh khatarnaak cheez hun main 😛 😛 )
Q13. Write a 100 word drabble using the following words death and garland. (No thinking, write instantly whatever comes to your mind).
Ans. When I was young, I used to wonder why people keep a garland on and around a lifeless body. The person has died, and then what use does garland of lively flowers have? In weddings, the presence of garlands signifies warmth and love. But in death, what did the presence of garlands signify? As I grew up, I realized that the significance of garlands is the same always. When a person close to us leaves us forever, we make a small effort to let the soul of the person know how much we love him/her. We shower our love in the form of garlands drenched with our tears.
Q14. Why readers should buy your book?
Ans. Readers should buy my books as my books are very real to life and they would definitely make you think and introspect. The characters in my books are very relatable and therefore, readers would surely find a glimpse of them in my books.
Q15. Are you writing something for your readers? A new book? If yes, then what it is about?
Ans. Yes, I am. I wish to complete it within the next month. It is a psychological thriller that deals with the life of two sisters. The story is set in a remote hill station of West Bengal.
( thriller.. dhishuum dishuum waali hai 😛 😀 )
