It feels good to be back after a break. But, wait. Was I on a break? Seriously? What all I was doing whilst I was away from my blog?
Try to find an answer just the way I am trying to find a perfect answer to this question 😛 😛 😛 😛
Okay. So, before you start finding out answers, let me introduce you all to an engineer turned author Mr. Subhrajyoti Parida. He has recently released his first poetry book ” Bouquet- of emotions, feelings, and thoughts”.
Subhrajyoti Parida hails from Bhubaneshwar and works in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited by profession. But he is a wonderful poet by heart. So, below are some points that I talked about. Follow me down to know more.
Q1. Describe Subhrajyoti in five words.
Ans: Dreamer, Poet, Photographer, Traveller, and Sentimental.
Q2. You are an engineer by profession and presently working with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited ( HAL). Despite being in such a good profession, what inclined you towards writing?
Ans: My job with HAL is by virtue of my educational qualification, professional commitments and to make the ends meet while writing is something that renders ultimate satisfaction to my soul and quenches the insatiable thirst of my mind.
Q3. As the title suggests, “Bouquet of emotions, feelings, and thoughts” It gives us a hint that the book deals with plenty of emotions. However, give us some clear idea about your book?
Ans: As the title of the book suggests, it is just like a ‘Bouquet’ of flowers of different colors and fragrance, tied together in a bunch. Each of these flowers is comparable to a particular theme which may be Love, Motherhood, Soldier, Freedom, Ambition, War, Peace, Goddess, Female Foeticide, or Childhood etc.. All these themes when brought together, becomes a ‘Bouquet’ i.e, an anthology of poems.
Q4. Did you need to do some research for your book?
Ans: No, there was no elaborate research as such.
Q5. Are you poetry or a story kind of person? You prefer your thoughts to flow in form of poetry or in form of story?
Ans: I must confess I am more of a poetry kind of person and thus, prefer the flow of thought in the form of poetry.
Q6. What was the main reason behind writing this book? Shall I go with the blurb or not?
Ans: Most of my poems in the book were part of my personal collection, which was just stored in some folder on my laptop, only to be referred once in a blue moon. I was keeping on composing poems based on themes which used to crop up in my mind and used to save in that personal folder.
Meanwhile, my mother was diagnosed with cancer in the middle of January 2016. After battling cancer for a month post surgery, she expired. Sudden loss of my dear mother left me devastated. I began sinking into an unfathomable depth of grief and depression but thanks to my lovely wife, my sister, and father, I could regain my composure. It was then only I realized that the best way to pay tribute to my Mother will be by dedicating a book of poems to her. Thus, ‘Bouquet’ was conceptualized.
Q7. Are you planning to write more beautiful books with different themes or you will continue to write on the same theme in near future? Is there any project in the pipeline?
Ans: I have begun working on my next anthology which also will consist of poems on a spectrum of themes. In my next book, the reader will find a couple of poems composed in a narrative style i.e, such poems will attempt to narrate a story.
Q8.What points should be kept in mind while writing a book in order to make it a good one?
Ans: In my opinion, it is the author only who can most honestly judge his/her book. So while writing, the author has to put his/her heart completely to his/her work keeping in mind how the reader is going to react to the content. The rest (i.e, book sales, reviews etc.) automatically falls in line.
Q9. A note to readers on how they could improve their writing skills–
Ans: Reading books on themes of one’s interest and writing practice can help in improving the writing skills.
Q10. Why readers should buy “ Bouquet- of emotions , feelings and thoughts.?
Ans: A reader should buy “Bouquet – of emotions, feelings and thoughts” to feel the emotions and the wave of thoughts of a poet who had just lost somebody nearest & dearest to him. Besides this, if the reader loves poems on a spectrum of themes, each promising to cause a different surge of emotions, he or she may buy the ‘Bouquet’.
